HEEEEEEELP MEEEEEE !!! I cant decide. They both look great. Priced about the same. The x one has a 23.5 kawi engine and the 2100 has a 29 kohler efi. Read great things about both engines. x one has susp seat the 2100 has front and rear axle suspension. Both have dual tanks. x one has separate pumps and wheel motors the 2100 has 5400 hydros. I am so confused :confused2: I will be mowing aprox 5 acres of good ole tuff Kansas country grass/weeds:wink:

I think this comes down to comfort verses longevity. Ferris seems less of a machine but more comfortable.
Hustler is rated at 5.33 acres per hour
Ferris is rated at 5.00 acres per hour
So your choice.
This is just my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Nice mowers both. I think the suspension seat would be nice enough unless your property is crazy bumpy. How important is the deck & cutting height to you? The Hustler gives you a further spread.

Thanks for the input guys. I am kind of a gearhead so the Ferris has the cool factor for me. But the hustler is a proven design and has dealer support close to where I live. Where the Ferris is an hour and a half drive to the closest dealer. The Ferris does have more moving parts so you are probably right about the wear and tear meaning more maintenance. But it is a beefy machine. My mom has a Fastrack so I am familiar with hustler and they are bullit proof. I hope someone with a Ferris chimes in on this topic. Retired thank you for your service to our fine country. Thanks again for the input .

I have a Ferris 600z and I'm enjoying it. I tested the 2100z and it was a beast of a machine. It had a suspension insert and paired with independent suspension. It rode smooth as butter and had an awesome cut. That's about all I got...good luck with purchase. Both great machines.

Both are great mowers, and both should last you for a very long time. The zt 5400 wheel motors on the is2100 are heavy duty commercial so either should last years. The is2100 will give a better ride, but you can get the flex forks with the suspension seat on the x one to help it ride better as well. I would go with the one that has the better dealer support, but you can't go wrong with either of them. I have used both decks to mow. Can't rate one better than the other. The icd deck is what I have on my mower and leaves a great cut. The vx4 deck is on my friend's x one and it cuts great too.
