This was given to me not working. I got the cheap rebuild kit and replaced carb, fuel lines and filters. It started on the second pull. Worked great for a day.
Now it's being a difficult, hard to start, would not stay running, then not starting at all.
I went over everything, has good spark, fuel lines are not kinked, priming works.
gas is good. same mixed gas working well in other machines.
I took the muffler off and it started but would not stay running so i focused a bit on the muffler, I took a torch to the spark screen, burned off some carbon in the muffler.
Still won't run,
I'm a pretty mechanically inclined guy but small engines are not my thing. I don't know where else to look.
I will do that. But really, is it that critical? I've never gapped a plug on a small engine and it's never made the difference between running and not running.
