Looked at the Husqvarna YTH24K48 tractor today, also looking at the JD d140. Opinions from current owners of both? I really like the Husky! Nervous about the JD quality and comments/opinions.

I have never owned a husqvarna but have used a couple and liked them.

I will not even try a junk deere. For extra money your going to pay for green paint and a name you can go with another brand and get more mower for the same money.

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

I have the YTH24K48 and love it, period. This is by far the best mower I've ever owned. I have had a older JD while they were still JD's and that mower is over 22 years old and still going but the new 100's from JD's are not the same imo. I compared the Husqvarna to several different mowers and I just kept coming back to the husky as mower of choice. This mower is well built, K57R Tuff Tq trans, which is beefed up from the K46, 24 hp Kohler engine has plenty of power as well. For the money you can't go wrong with mower. I have over 18 hours on mine and just changed the break-in oil out of the engine and all was ok. I put Kohler oil back in since it seems to be a good package for the Kohler engines.
I like the Husky over the JD's a lot more and I think you will too.

Thanks! I picked up a YTH24K48 yesterday, got the bagger for $199 too! Ordered a brush bar, but am still looking for the mulch kit.

Got the tractor home, set up and fired up. The tractor blows away my troy built, the engine is strong, it never even hesitated while cutting my overgrown yard. The bagger worked great, only beef is emptying the bags. Tried this with the top section of the chute on and off. Noticed the cupholder filled up with grass clippings when I lifted the bagger, not a good place for your cold one. The seat was very comfy, turn radius nice and tight and I honestly was looking for more grass to cut. Gonna need more fertilizer on the lawn so I can cut more!

How easy does yours steer? I drove one that a guy in my area bought last year and thought it was real stiff.

I can't answer for badjujumat, but mine is great. I'll agree that it's a little tight but it will wear in nicely. I'd rather have the steering a little snug while new than feel like it's flying apart after a yr or so. Sorta like my moms JD.

The steering is great! Much tighter turn radius than my old tractor. Ordered the front bumper kit and the mulch kit. Love the ride, gonna hit is with some wax before cut #2.

Threw down some extra fertilizer so I can more
