Husqvarna 128LD

My cheap neighbor bought 1 of these weed eaters out of a pawnshop.Surprised they even had 1 in it's condition.Leaking fuel so it won't crank.Does anyone own 1 of these? What's your opinion of it?

My Husqvarna HU700f fwd mower is awesome.But this weed eater is a long drop off

I've worked on a few, usually just needs fuel lines and carburetor work from ethanol fuel. I would say it's a good machine.

Boy you’re making a lot of fuss on a piece of equipment that’s leaking fuel!!! Maybe if you would spend a little time telling us where it’s leaking and what you’ve done to solve the problem we might be able to help you out. Is it leaking at the tank? Is the crankcase filling with fuel? Is there fuel in the cylinder? Is there spark? How much time have you spent working on these types of engines? Before you go bad mouthing a piece of equipment, make sure you know what your talking about.

I'm using one that I just replaced the clone carb with a Zama C1Q-W40A as brush cutter. The unit was gave to me and I was needing a brush cutter.

The darn Ruixing carburetor was unrepairable so I replaced it.

And I have repaired several of these trimmers over the years.

1st off Rivets,I hadn't done a thing to it.Yet.Probably sure it's the fuel line.When filled with fuel,it doesn't get to the bulb,but leaks.Like I said,it was from a pawn shop for $20 with no filter nor cover.Anything else I forgot?

7. Now you add that all you’ve done is just pulled the rope, and no fuel is getting to the primer bulb.
Sorry I just give my opinion using the information I’m given. I’m thinking you just want us to validate what you think of a Husqvarna 128 VD trimmer. My opinion is that every company makes good and bad equipment, but I must troubleshoot equipment before I can say which piece I have in front of me. I could say it’s bad junk, but you find that it just needs a little TLC, so I will be wrong. Or I could say great find, but when you try to get it going, you find out it has major problems and you wasted time and money working on it. I’m wrong again. I won’t be able to win this one, going to mix myself a strong drink and kick myself for even replying.

And those of us that are experienced professionals have non invasion tests we can do on every piece to determine its current condition. It is something we all must do on never seen before equipment. Non invasive test can save us a lot time if the tests shows the equipment is unrepairable. Most DIYers are just guessing at what the problem(s) are and just pull the parts trigger.

One of simplest test to direct prime the engine with the intended use fuel and see it will even start as most 2 cycle equipment requires 100 psi compression to try to start. This would if the equipment is worth continue testing for repairs.
