Thanks for the forum! I've had this Honda mower for about 14 years now and it's been a good machine. The only speed I use is 2nd gear, in transport it got moved into 3rd. gear. Is there any way of unhooking the cable and moving it into 2nd gear permanently. Thanks Frank
Because of the way the cables lay it is very common to have them rust solid within the outer case.
The throttle is generally the bad one.
Being a laid up type cable it can only pull and needs the spring to move the cable the other way.
So you will probably need a new cable and all will be fine
