I am going to go look at a hra 214 h c this weekend for 100 dollars no bag no mulch plug but he says mechanically a monster. I just need a back up so a couple questions
1) will my hrr bag and mulch plug work on this machine?
2) how old is it
3) what engine might it have and how much power?
4) are parts available for it
5) anyone have experience with it?
6) anything I need to know?
Manual says Copyright 1983...so sometime around then.

If it is an HRA214, then it should have a steel deck with the GXV120 engine mounted on it. The HR214s had the aluminum deck. If it has the two speed transmission, the shift lever will be down at the rear edge of the deck as opposed to up on the handle like the HR214SXA did.

I believe they had mulch plugs that were specific to their deck and wouldn't interchange with other models. Can't answer you about the bag. I know bags for newer Hondas don't fit my HR214s.

The bag nor plug would work and to buy a new bag would cost almost as much I would have spent on the mower itself so I decided not to buy
