Hi folks. My old Sears lawn tractor has served me well for about 35 years but it finally came time to replace it so I found a Scag Wildcat on craigslist. I was able use it once and now it won't start. It cranks and there's power to the fuel solenoid. There is no spark. So I'll check the adjustment and continuity at all the safety switches, I think there are 4 of them. Is there anything else I should look for? Thanks for your help in advance. I'll let you know what I find.

Maybe you could post the model# serial# off the ID tag on the mower and post the model# serial# code# if it has one off the engine so we can get more info on your machine. OK

The model number is STWC61V-26KA-LC. The serial number is B5600359. The engine is a Kawasaki FD731V. The machine has just over 1500 hours on the clock. Other than the fact that it's dead in my driveway, difficult to move and totally useless in it's current state, it's a wonderful machine.

There are two 20 amp fuses to check, 1 seat switch, 3 safety switches, 1 relay switch and a electronic module. You will have to check all the switches to see if they are working. I'd check the fuses first. All these safety switches are on the mower not on the engine. You should check low oil switch on the engine also.

Keep us updated, OK If you need to move your Scag look for transport lever or levers that disengage the hydro's so it will move easier. There may be one on both sides at the rear of mower.
