I've read through some of the seat switch disabling threads, I know this can be a 'sensitive' subject anyhow. But I don't really want to disable the switch, I just find it to be too sensitive. If I lean a bit, the mower starts to shut down.

My previous Craftsman was not nearly this sensitive. It looks like it needs weight right in the middle of the seat. I was wondering if anyone has found a good way to reduce the sensitivity (maybe insert a metal bar in there so weight anywhere pushes the switch?). I don't want to re-invent the wheel if someone has some good ideas on this.

I really do not want tot disable it - I slipped off the clutch once while trimming, and almost got knocked off when I hit a branch. I feel a bit better with that safety feature.

I might wire in a parallel, momentary switch. At least, I could push that when I need to lean, and being momentary it would still be safe. But I'd prefer to just make it less sensitive. If no answers come through, I'll tackle it myself and report back.

TIA - KenC
