How do you recommend I clean the engine on my Craftsman?

I clean the outside of my engines by spraying on degreaser solution either in a can or spray bottle. I then use a brush to remove grime and grease on the heavily soiled spots and cylinder fins then wash clean with the water hose. Be careful not to get any water into your carburator or exhaust. Sometimes having your engine warm breaks down the oil and grease better. My :2cents:
