Have a B&S engine , its on a Poulan push mower from 1996, and the engine runs at one speed cuz the spring that controls the speed is probably old. Needing a new one but cant locate any "code" or item catalog # for it. The engine is model 10A902. Other ID's are Type 0439A3, code 97052754.
The spring itself is 32mm (relaxed, coiled part only ENTIRE length is 72mm. Keep in mind a new spring may be a tad shorter(?).
Looking to order a new one on ebay or any other suggestion......
Any help appreciated.

Your engines appears to have two springs. the main spring which is part number 690254 and the idle spring which is part number 691859
Thanks, Ilengine! So the spring Im talking about is the bigger one- would that be the "main spring" as you say? The smaller one is way smaller.....Maybe I should by the set.
