I ran over a piece of carpet with my push mower.The mower died and I pulled the piece of carpet out.When I restarted the mower it was blowing oil out of exhaust and where you put the oil in at.Any ideas what is wrong and HOW BAD IS IT?

I suspect you got oil into the intake when you tipped the mower to remove the carpet. I would top the oil off, and run the mower and see what happens.

Agreed.

OP, if you put the mower with the carb down you let the oil out. Always tip the mower carb side up. Check that your air filter isn't fouled with oil.

As long as it sounds and feels the same (vibration) you should be fine I've ran over lots of carpets and tarps with lots of different machines
