Why do Honda OHV engines hunt. Have worked on push mower and pressure washer engines that hunt. Start easy and smooth out when load is added. Thanks for any information. Bill
 
The hunting is due to a partial obstruction in the idle circuit of the carb. with todays emissions engines that are running too lean to start with, part of a speck of dust will lodge in a passage and cause what you are seeing. Couple that will todays crappy fuel that in some cases seems bad the day you buy it, and you have problems.
