I can't shut my 4 year old mower off by releasing the safety handle. I have to reach down and press on a lever which finally shuts it off. This just happened today and, I noticed a sheet metal screw in my driveway where I had started the mower and also noticed a 1/16-1/8" plastic tube which ( I guess!) should be connected to what I don't know! Runs fine, just can't shut it off in the "normal" manner....ideas?
follow the cable down the the engine.
You will see a small microswitch with a black bellows over the pin.
This is the engine shut off.
It will be obvious how it works.
My guess is the screw came from the cable retainer.
