Hello Guys, I am bringing back an HRT216 back from the dead, left on side of road. I put the trans back in with new belt and cables and the belt is twisting and the cable will rub. Staring at it for hours. What do I have wrong? Thank you!

Are belt & cable OEM Honda parts? There are many HRT216 mowers, which one is yours?

May be just an anomaly with your camera, but it looks to me like your drive belt sits awfully far down into the gearbox pulley.

I agree. A wrong belt might explain why its twisting.
