HRR216 with GCV160
I'm embarrassed to ask this and will cut to the chase. If I disconnect the governor spring on this engine and the engine over revs, does that mean I have an internal governor issue? Or am I sadly misinformed. Neighbor brought this to me after the proverbial "mowing under a bush" situation. They complained the engine wouldn't rev up after it and a sping was haning. They tried to connected to both of the two holes on the governor arm but failed. From my understanding of how the governor works, without the opposing force of the spring, we have a closed throttle. Though I'm not so arrogant that I can't learn something at my late age. I have the spring disconnected and it's running away on me.
