honda gx160 governor help

the motor is on a pressure washer i bought it used and it did not run i put a new carb on it it now races and will not return to the idle screw ,the clip on the governor shaft hits part of the casting no matter which position it is in only letting the governor turn slightly ,i did slit the case everything inside looks good the paddle is touching the plastic plunger .any ideas would be much appreciated thanks in advance

The governor should try to reduce the RPM... a spring tries to open the throttle and increase the RPM...
Is it possible you have some of the linkage on upside down or in the wrong place... You should not have interference with the governor travel... :smile:KennyV

i looked on you tube and all the linkage is on right ,i guess my question is the hair pin clip that holds the governor shaft on the outside of the casing hits a cast part of the motor not allowing it to move enough is my guess but i just thought the clip can go on 4 ways :laughing: i will try that when i get home
