Honda 1011 Harmony manual PTO problem

I have a 1992 or so Harmony 1011 riding mower that is new to me. I use it to cut the grass between my lavender rows on my farm. I used it twice and the blade belt snapped. I got a new belt got er installed but now the PTO set up seems backwards. When the lever is off the belt is taut and when pushed to on it is slack. I think it may be because when I took it apart the manual said to move the deck to the right and ten slide it out and the spring will fall down. Of course I didn’t look at the spring beforehand so I don’t know how it was configured. Does anyone have a picture or information on how the PTO spring is set up? the back part of the spring is bolted to the deck, that is still there it’s the other end that gets activated by the PTO lever that I must have on there wrong.
