I have a Homelite string trimmer #UT20677 that I twisted the flex shaft in two. I checked with Homelite and they say the part is obsolete. I hate to throw this thing away, it runs great. The shaft is about 49" long give or take a little. I measured the two pieces butted end to end. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement flex shaft or maybe a part number and vendor?
Every mower shop should have dozens of them waiting to be tossed in the scrap metal bin.
Most will happily sell you a complete trimmer with blown engine for $ 10.

Okay, I went and measured it. It's exactly 49 inches long. The diameter of the round part is 15/64 inch, the diameter of the squared ends is 13/64 inch.
This shaft is off of a Homelite UT-20763 string trimmer.
If it will fit your trimmer, you can have it for the price of shipping. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I just checked the part numbers. Here's what I found:
The shaft for your trimmer is UP03031. That supercedes to PS01502, which in turn supercedes to 986117001.
