I picked up a Homelite leaf blower for free and am trying to get it going. It had been several years since it had been run so I had to start at square 1. Pulled the carb and took it apart and soaked it in cleaner overnight. I was able to find a kit that had all necessary gaskets etc. that I needed. I was informed that Walbro no longer makes a replacement for this blower so I decided to get the kit. Cleaned carb and got it back together and low and behold it started right up. Runs pretty good and got the carb adjusted pretty close I think. Now here is my question. It does not have a kill switch but it says to push the round shaft that you can turn to keep it running at high rpms while using it and supposedly pushing it in will kill the engine. I can't find any adjustments and it will not kill the engine just pushing it in. The only way I have found to kill it is by choking it down. What am I missing here? Should just pushing the round plastic shaft in kill the engine? If so, any suggestions on how to make it work?
