I am a home owner who bought a good used John Deere L130 with a 48" deck, after selling my Cub Cadet tractor. The local cub cadet dealer in Middletown RI ... Bulk Lawn and Garden were completely unhelpful and were not attentive to any of my questions or requests during service appointments.
I bought my tractor on Craigslist, and it was originally purchased at Padula Brothers in Massachusetts. It was important for me to buy a good tractor that came from a dealer and not a big box store.
I read the forums and did research on my JD lawn tractor and I experienced the common issues, smoking on startup, low grass height at max deck height setting. I will add air to the tires to start, but I saw a setting for the deck which looks like it may raise the deck. I should probably start with leveling the deck. I may send the tractor off to Toms Lawn and Garden for a full tune up deck level and oil change as well as blade sharpening. Anyway thanks for having me here, I am sure to learn a thing or 2.
