Hi! My wife and I just bought 8 acres out in the country - coming from less than a quarter of an acre in the suburbs. I have a feeling I'm going to need a lot of advice from you seasoned mowers .

You need a good 'used' commercial or industrial mower...
And possibly a tractor also.
I have both and use them year round.
Depending on what you are going to try to do on 8 acres... you may need some equipment.
The quality of will be more important than the brand of....
You don't need a new $30k industrial mower or a new $30k tractor, but a good used piece of equipment will last you decades with a lot of dependability.
Look for and buy the highest quality equipment you can find, USED...
You will never use it to it's maximum so it is not going to fail due to over load, Industrial equipment is designed to work 8 to 12 hrs a day every day, and you will never rack up enough hours to wear it out...
You will spend less time doing what you have to do, That will give you more time to do things that you will want to do... :smile:KennyV
