ok i labeled this as a throttle issue not sure what to call it but, here i go i have a snapper le14.538h i am new to mowers as this is my first one and my issue is that it has a lever for throttle adjustment to go past half throttle causes it to bog down and die also if i run if for more than 3 minutes after i shut it off once the engine comes to a stop it pops really loud out the exhaust can anyone help me ? this is my only issue with this mower other than for the life of me i cannot find a cheap discharge shut for it.......

Pushing throttle all the way forward is possibly choke, used just for starting purposes, also before shutting down let engine idle for 30 seconds.

thank you for the link it helped a lot but as far as the throttle issue yes letting it idle for 30 seconds stopped the backfiring but with the throttle as shown in the picture it shows full throttle at the top but you may be right it could be a choke symbol but i am not sure this is my first rider and im still figuring some of the things out, that is why i am uploading an image..IMAG0107.jpg

All the way up is the choke position used for cold start. About 3/4 of the way up there is a V notch which is the full throttle run position.
