Hayter Spirit 41 - How to fit replacement Roller Cover LH (part number 111-0057)

I damaged the left hand roller cover when lifting it into the boot of my car. The mower worked fine but the cracks in the cover gradually worsened until the bits jammed the chain. I managed to extricate all the pieces and bought a replacement cover. However, I cannot get it to fit over the chain and into the space. Do I have to part-dismantle the mower to fit the cover or is there a way to insert it without dismantling? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
