I have a 19 in. mdl 11a-18mc056 cub cadet that is very difficult to start. It has a Chinese engine on it with a manual choke. Everything appears normal and the machine is in great condition with low hours. It continuously takes between 12 and 14 rips of the cord to start this thing with full choke. No primer on this machine that I can see. Once started, runs like a watch. Any ideas?

What is the serial number of the engine or model?

Might be the valves.

Hi, Unfortunately the machine has been returned to its owner so I don't have engine #s. The mower #'s are as follows. mdl # 959468 11A-18 MC056.
You mentioned valves being a potential issue. It has good compression and runs real well. Were you thinking that there was an issue with valve lash on these engines? To tight maybe? Thanks for your reponse.

Yes, I am talking about the valve lash. The valves could be out of adjusment (to loose).
