I suppose it's appropriate that a female post this thread. After all, Valentine's Day is very much enjoyed by women. But I wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine's day and also to pose a question: how will you show love today? Yes, flowers and candy tend to be a good way to go for the women in your life, but how about we look at things from a bigger perspective---how can we reach out to our communities in love?

As skilled men and women who know how to manage a lawn, we are needed in our communities. So in the spirit of Valentine's Day and with the motivation of love, we at LMF want to challenge you to commit to 3 acts of service in your community to perform either this month or when spring hits. You could even make clever IOU cards (manly ones, of course) so they can redeem your help when they need it. Here are just a few different things you could do:

- Commit to mow 3 neighbor's lawns this spring
- Got snow? Clear another driveway on your block
- Check oil, spark plugs, blades, etc. on someone's mower or equipment
- If you have fruit trees, pick and deliver some to a neighbor, friend, or family member
- Teach a teen to run a lawn mower
- Trim a tree or hedge
- Research local community outreach programs in your area; home building, garden, and landscaping projects may already be underway in your neighborhood!

Get creative. Somebody somewhere needs you to reach out to them.

Oh yeah, and have fun!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Valentine's.gif

I like doing good deeds! I like to snowblow people's driveways when it snows for free (I like to do it 90% because it's a good dead, but also 10% because I like using my snowblower as much as possible). I also sometimes mow yards for free.

And on a simpler note, how was your V-Day? Did you do anything special?

For the past few years I've worked for a florist as a driver on holidays like Valentine's Day. I always look forward to it because everybody is so happy to get them.

I have been mowing my elderly neighbors yard for free for 8 years now, and I am happy to do it. When we first moved here 10 years ago he fell trying to mow the bank, and ditch in front of his house one day. When he fell he fractured his shoulder so I told him not to worry about it anymore, and I have been cutting it every since then.

Aw, now that's what I'm talking about. I'm sure he appreciates it very much.

I hope that kindness comes back to you someday buddy.
