GS45 Idler Arm

Hello, brand new member here. I have an older GS 45. When I shift into reverse, the motion of the drive belt pushes up on the idler arm which releases tension on the belt. The only way to regain tension is to push down on the brake levers which pushes the idler arm back into place. I suppose new arm springs might be the way to go, but looking for other input. Thanks in advance.

Post model & serial #'s from under seat, thanks, Mark
To OP can't do what you are asking as there is no seat.
