Great Dane Chariot 61" = Deck Height Quick Adjustment

The Great Dane Chariot 61" has a terrible system for setting the deck height. It has a pin with a knuckle-busting ball that is hard to change to a different hole. I made a plate with notches and then a dog to drop into those notches using the existing lever handle. It is really easy and fast to raise the deck or drop it down. I can lower the deck in lighter grass and raise it when cutting in heavy stuff or over a rock.

The plate was quit a bit of work cutting and filing the notches, but the rest was easy. It did require drilling 2 holes in the lever. The photos should be self-explanitory. Click on photos to enlarge.

Good job. Get a patent before dane sees it. Binders back in the 20s had a similar header height adjustment.

Thanks Greg. It would probably run better if I painted it "John Deere Green". :)
