I would get an Echo or a Stihl instead of something like a Craftsman because it will probably be better in the long run. You know I would say Echo, since I have lots of experience with them, but I would recommend Stihl for a blower (if you are looking for a BACKPACK blower). So here are my recommendations:

Trimmer: Echo SRM-225, but you might want to look into a higher-up model if you will be doing TONS of commercial use......Echo SRM-225

Blower: Stihl BR-500...........Stihl BR-500

What you should get depends on you.

You have a few telling you to buy high dollar trimmers and blowers.
If you have the money to do that then that's good.
If all your doing with a trimmer is getting the grass your mower can not get then you don't need the biggest trimmer with the most power.
My wife likes the cheap $70 one from walmart she used on over 3000 yards last year.

Now blowers I use a hand held and a backpack. I used the backpack maybe 10 times last year. ( I mulch leaves ) if you have the money and your going to blow leaves I say get the biggest baddest blower you can find.

As to what brand you should get I will not get into that. Just buy what you like. Don't buy it just so you can say you have it.

Stihl Km 130r with a blower and trimmer attachment, it will run you around the same amount as buying 2 seperate machines and the blower is equivalent to the br550 and the trimmer is as strong as you can get

What you should get would depend on what type of lawn Maintenance you are going to be doing. Are you doing Residential Lawn care or are you just going to be using it around the house. If your using it as a home owner then buy the less expensive equipment. If on the other hand you are using for a residential lawn care service you need to buy quality equipment like Stihl or Echo something that's going to be durable and reliable, something that can give you years of service. I would suggest the Stihl line of equipment for commercial or residential work, for a trimmer the Stihl FS 90R and for a blower the the Stihl BR 550 both are pretty much bullet proof and both would do everything that you would need to do and then some and last for years. The problem with the low end equipment from Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart or big box stores is that it's just not reliable equipment for the Lawn Care Operator. If you can afford down time, losing money and possibly losing clients buy from the Big Box Stores, if you can't afford those things buy good equipment to start with, it will be cheaper in the long run.
