Toro Timecutter z420... runs fine but blade is always engaged. Bad clutch maybe? Is it worth $250?

Worth 250?probably judging by the discharge chute the guy looks like he wasn't very careful I would check blades and spindles and belt the clutch is probably a simple fix. It's a residential model but you could probably clean it fix it and dell it for 1000

I mean I would say ill give you 200. I personally have bought items that have needed work and have turned a really big profit on them. spend a little to make a lot. pto would probably be a couple hundred bucks

I would pay $250 for it

Oh ya... Definately I would run over there...... That's a quick sell I usually get 2 or 3 mowers a week for 20 or 50 dollars fix them sell them for 125 which means I usually get 100 lol this I would buy fix and sell for 1250 :)

Yep .. But I would offer $200 first just to see if he would take it.

I think it might be 200 but it's not a simple deal. The guy with the 42 wants this Toro 32 walk behind w/ a bad engine thats for sale for 300. I buy the 32 and trade it for the 42 + 100 cash.
Personally I don't think the 32 is worth 300 but apparently its worth 300 to the guy with the 42 ;)
Or its worth his 42 + $100 but he doesn't have $300 in cash at the moment.
I'm going to see the 42 and pick it up before I buy the 32 though :frown:

Oh one more thing. I found an almost new Stihl FC90 for 200. I'm going to buy that and sell my PE200 and MTD 3.5hp edgers to pay for it. Seem like a good idea? The PE200 cuts a great edge on grass thats not too heavy and already has a trench but is way underpowered. The MTD has the power and makes a pretty good edge and is ultra reliable. Might keep that but I'm trying to cut down on space.
------------
Ok I bought the Stihl. All I can say for now is it does have a lot more power than the PE200. I'm going to try a lighter blade on it. Right now it's got one of those big Ryobi serrated blades.

Okay I picked up a 2 pack of Echo blades at HD and put one on the PE200 and the other on the FC90. Can't see that it made much difference on either machine compared to that thicker heavier serrated blade. I really like the Stihl. Really easy to start and has plenty of power for everything but the most overgrown grass that hasn't been edged in a long time. Might have to keep the MTD for that.
I think I'm gonna take a chance on that 32 for 42 trade deal. There's got to be some profit in that plus I'll get to play around with a zero turn for a while which should be fun. I've never been on one before and I'm looking forward to it. :licking:

Updating this. Ok I bought that Toro 32 with a bad engine. The 42 zero turn was stored at a shop... the shop owner is out of town til the end of the month. So this guy brings me a good Honda HRB217hxa and Snapper Ninja mulcher w/ a Kawasaki engine and bags for both.
Also a Snapper Hi vac 7.0 Intek w/ bent shaft and a Murray Ultra 20" that will run if you spray starter fluid in the carb. He also brought me that HRB217 shell for my mower that I patched with fiberglass. The shell has a good tranny attached. The shell and tranny are a gift.
Is the Snapper hi vac worth fixing to sell or should I just sell the parts. The Murray should be a good $50 mower if I can get it to run.
The two mowers that need work are for my time and trouble. The two good mowers are for the Toro 32. I have the option of holding the two good mowers until the 42 zt is available and trading them back for the 42. Or I can sell them and see what they bring.
Any opinions on which option I should take?
