Why do they invade the house at this time of the year? It seems that every single morning when we wander through to the living room, there is an absolutely massive spider sitting on the wall or the ceiling. It's like the invasion of the giant spiders!
It's breeding time for spiders I do believe, so they will be males looking for female company. I've heard that they search using their sense of smell and, in Europe at least, the weather has meant an increase in their numbers this year.
