Can anyone give me an idea why I have gas in the oil pan of a Tecumseh 10hp engine that is on a Craftsman lawn tractor, 1985 model. I am also looking for help on the governor how it is connected. I have never work with this and looking for someone who knows how to connect.

Fuel in the crankcase is caused by a bad float needle and seat. Will need to replace and then change to oil. This manual may help with the governor question. You didn't post any model numbers so I am assuming you have an L-head engine.

Your Tecumseh model number is TVXL220-157205A. Should be covered in the manual I posted.
