My wife is hounding me to install a "garden window" over the kitchen sink. She wants to grow herbs in there year round. Are they pricey? Can a person install on themselves??

Should be an easy & fun wood shop project... window boxes, either inside or outside the window, are handy and can be done to fit right in... :smile:KennyV
I have two garden windows in my house. One in my kitchen over the sink, used just how your wife wants to use one----for herbs. I have a bigger one in my mudroom which faces southeast for vegetable starts from seed in early spring.
Long term, I 'm scheming for a green house so I can extend my growing season----growing season tends to be pretty short here in the northern Rockies. Short term, a garden window for herbs sounds quite do-able.
