I received my Volt Gauge Amazon.com : New Universal 2" 52mm Tint Lens LED Volt Voltage Gauge Meter Car Boat Truck Auto : Car Electronics I had the exact same one on previously, but the shop I let fix It removed It and didn't reinstall It. So I got another one. Anyway tied It Into the Ignition harness like before so it only comes on when the key Is In the on position, also had the headlight wired where they would come on when key In on position engine running or not. Every thing went fine went to bolt the meter down and made one last test. Turned the key on and heard sizzling for a second and headlight's and volt meter went out and It won't start (engine won't crank). So I thought my battery went dead and use the volt gauge to see, tap the volt gauge positive wire against the solenoid hot side and hear sizzling and see sparks, so I removed It quickly cause the fuel tank Is right above. So I go over my wiring again and see the volt gauge positive wire (red) Insulation broken and seen the wire grounding against the frame of the mower. Ok I found the problem disconnect the volt gauge altogether. But It still won't start and the headlight's won't turn on. So I jumped the solenoid and the engine turns over. Is the Ignition switch faulty and need replacing? Or did I short something else out? WeedEater 259723 12 HP B&S Flat Head. A new Ignition switch Is only like $10.00 dollars.

Check for blown fuse. Normally located someplace around the starter solenoid. Could be clipped to the frame which could make it hard to find.
