I have a FR651V-BS17-R with broken connecting rods. I have sourced a FS651- FA00-R for $900.00. I don't know what the difference is between the model designations. Can anyone educate me?
 
Caution: The lower link for Kawasaki FR651V shows valve lash specs to be .002 ~ .0039 cold.

Correct valve lash is .004~ .006

I have never been able to fathom Kawasaki engine spec numbers so good luck & if you do find a code breaker please post it.
AFAIK any FR651 is interchangable with any other one and any different parts should directly swap over.

When in doubt I do a search for a parts diagram of each otor and look to see what has different part numbers.
The only real problem will be the PTO shaft as they can be keyed, tapered or even different sizes.
Everything else will swap over.

Did try using the numbers you supplied and found the BS17-R specs really easy but FA00R s a bit more of a problem
Down here they are all S??? and the only FA00-R I can find is your post on a variety of web forums.
