Hey everyone,

I'm looking to get an old workhorse back into running shape, and I had a severely bent (now broken when I tried to straighten it) Chain Break Lever that I need to replace.

Yes, I've already posted in the Wanted section of the forums, but thought I might have better luck on the Stihl Forum.

It's Stihl Part #: 11181625005 / 1118-162-5005

If you have one you're willing to part with, please PM me or post here. Thank you!

This is the exact part I'm seeking:

I just recently had to rebuild an 028 the customer dropped a tree on. Only place i found parts was on ebay. Might try there. As you have probably found out parts for saw are NLA from stihl

Thank you, but already been down that road: Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, general web search, local Stihl dealers, and more...

028 was not the most popular saw so parts nof as plentiful. Good luck.

That one's a little rich for me, but that gave me a good idea about how to search differently. Thank you!

A new chain brake lever was about $12 when new & part was available, you may want to purchase this one while available & take to machine shop & have another couple made.

I think I found the part (NEW) for $7.25 in Pennsylvania. The order is supposed to process and ship Monday, so I'll wait 'til I get a confirmation of shipment before updating my threads here. Fingers crossed!

UPDATE: I did find the part and it arrived yesterday. The part is installed and works as it should, even though it's ever so slightly different than the original (update/upgrade before production ceased is my guess). Here are photos of the old, broken part shown below the new part that just arrived.

It looks like it should work OK.
