How do I pull a rear tire (flat) off of my Toro 50/GT2100 mower.
Four large lug nuts come off easily. Center Bolt removes easily
as well. Tire will not pull off. Is there a TRICK to this??? Thanks
in advance!!
Just to be clear. Are you trying to take the wheel off of the mower and it's stuck or do you have the wheel off the mower and are trying to get the tire off of the wheel?
If not removed every few years and greases the wheels rust on.
Jack it up, make sure it is well supported then get behind and apply your biggest hammer liberally.
For you peace of mind, go to the toro web site plug in your model numbers and download the parts manual which has a nice exploded view of the rear axel.
From memory it comes off after removing the 4 small nuts, the single large one holds the drum onto the axel, rather like a trailer wheel.

Once you get the tire off & repaired, take a wire brush to the mounting hub, then wipe it with some hi-temp grease. NOT a lot, just enough to prevent the rust from returning.
New autos have same issue at times too.

You remove it just like the wheels of a car. First put the big nut back on the hit the rim with a small sledgehammer and rim should come off.
