Fibre washer on axle Model 20055

Hi all,
I need to replace the fiber washer in the photos....it was destroyed trying to get the pinion gear off the axle.
I have researched extensively on line with no success....no parts diagram of this model shows any washer at all for this model.
Can I just use a fiber washer that fits the bore of the axle....or is this a specific type of washer?
Thanks.Fiber washer 2.jpg

You can fabricate one out of fiber material or some nylon plastic such as a Gatorade jug cap. It is basically there to keep dirt and debris from getting to the shaft bushing. Make sure the thickness is the same.

When looking at the parts diagram for your mower it appears the diagram doesn't match the parts on your mower. It looks like the pinion gear in your picture has 2 flat sides and locks to the shaft, where as the pinion gear in the diagram has a 4 sided keyed hole set up for a slipper style key.

ILENGINE.....pinion gear does indeed have two flat sides....this washer simply prevents dirt getting into the shaft bushing.
Auto Doc....great idea, thanks

As IL says double check your model number. 20055 is a cast deck, while your pictures show a steel deck.

Sorry Rivets....working on two mowers at once here and gave the wrong model and serial numbers.....old age sucks!!!! :)
the washer is from a Model 20374 serial # 405360514...the washer still does not show on parts diagrams for this mower.....what would happen if I didn't replace it??
Thanks

Toro part number is 110-7191, which is what you are looking for.

Thanks Rivets....can you tell me where you found that part number.....here's a screen shot of my attempt to find it on the Toro website.

ILENGINE.....no, this is not the part or the location. These wheels have never been off the mower, and the current position of the fiber washer would be between part # 16 and 17....thats where its located on the opposite wheel.

The washer in your pictures is between the bearing hoc and drive gear, which is the part both I and IL say you need. You can question what we recommend, as you may have more experience than we do with Toro mowers, but I and I’ll bet IL will stand by our recommendations. Maybe someone smarter than us will be able to point you in the right direction.

In the photo I've included, you're looking towards the body of the mower....so the wheel actually goes onto the axle after the pinion gear which is the held on by a circlip......so the wheel goes on from the bottom of the photo
Where you describe the part you refer to is on the inside of the height adjustment plate.....so its located between # 16 and #8 on the outside of the pivot arm....not the inside.
I had no intention of questioning or challenging your experience or help....I apologize if that's how you see it. Perhaps my description of the issue was not clear but the part you're referring to is on the inside of the plate.....the washer is on the outside.Fibre washer 1.jpgFibre washer 1.jpg

Here is a picture of the 110-7191 that we are saying is the correct part. You can compare it to the washer in your picture They look identical to me.

Thanks ILENGINE...yes, that washer looks exactly the same.....I was confused by the location and didn't realize that the same washer was used in a different location.
Appreciate your patience.

@trooper1954 I think the diagram is somewhat misleading They show the washer going on before the adjuster wheel mounting plate, but the washer will not fit over the part that screws into the wheel mounting plate
