F525....how much to ask for it?

I am buying a new Kubota Kommander. I have a 1993 JD F525 48" deck with 680 hours and the factory light kit installed. Both belts are new and have 2 spare short belts to go with it. Also a new battery and 3 new blades installed 3 months ago. Seat and body are in excellent condition. Can anyone give me some advice on a respectable price to get for it. Don't want to scare people away but don't want to give it away for less than its real value either.

Thanks in advance.

Why not trade it in for a JD Z920M, I bet JD dealer would give you more money than you can sell it for.

Because a Z920M is $10,174.00.

Unless they are going to give me $5000 for my F525 on trade we are not talking anywhere near the same price point.

I think it's safe to say you are not going to get $5000 for the f525

I agree.

If mowers are anything like cars, you will almost always get more selling it yourself than you will get on trade. Ideally someone should be able to buy it for more than the dealer would give me, but less than a dealer would take for it on their lot. That way everyone (except the dealer) wins. Finding that number is the hard part.

Okay that is internet pricing, so what about dealer pricing??

and I guess you were right, you are not even close comparing mowers for mowers either.

While I am sure there is room for haggleing with a dealer, there is not that much room. And BTW, it was you who made the comparison by suggesting the JD, not I.

Ok what does have that to do with anything by recommending JD you tell that, I told you how to get the most money from your mower and you would have thought I committed a crime by you throwing out internet pricing etc.
You mower if in top notch condition would bring around $1500.00, now you have your two different answers so anything else we can help you with?
