:frown::thumbdown::confused2:EZGo 16hp Briggs Stratton sometimes won't run. I have changed fuel lines, filter, fuel pump, Spark plugs, adjusted the valves, replaced carb. It started and ran great, better than ever, took it down the road and back, shut it off and got sprayer ready, and it coughed and sputtered and popped and barely ran. then it started and ran, Whatup??? Undependable

Thanks, that was my next option. I always use 93 octane that has no ethanol. I have used Seafoam trying to clean old carb, but I have since put new carb on. I always try most expensive things first, Ha ha. I will drain and clean tank and use fresh gas and treatment, I'll let you know thanks.

And working on the last job done is the most likely cause, double check the valve lash.
They may have backed off a little when the engine cooled down

:thumbsup:I removed tank after draining, and thoroughly cleaned it, reinstalled with 93 octane with fuel treatment, started and ran fine with just one little hiccup. Let it set a while, it started and ran just fine again with another little hiccup. I think it is going to be fine now. I have used same gas out of same tank, in my grasshopper, with no problems. Also I always use "Stabill" and keep gas containers stored inside on a wooden rack off of the ground and am very careful about contamination of funnel etc. It must have not been quite enough!!

Thanks for the help, Lofish
