lower deck to lowest setting, remove key from ignition, let tractor cool down, locate upper idler arm and try to move arm up and down by hand, if there is little to no movement it's ok, if you find excessive up and down movement the idler assembly mount bolt needs to be replaced. please read my threads for a permanent repair.

correction: if there is little to no movement it's ok for now, until your pto belt breaks then i would check idler arm for up and down movement, if idler arm has excessive up and down movement i suggest replacing idler assembly mount bolt as i have stated in previous posts.

Take a look at Simplicity's factory idler assembly mount bolt. My son took picture of bolt against square. Notice last three to five threads on bolt are not touching square. The threads are stretched and bolt is warped. Simplicity uses this bolt on all decks except 61" deck. I have discussed this issue numerous times since 7-15-2013. This is the bolt we replaced.
