Echo trimmer won't stay running

I ruled out the air filter and spark plug. But I did notice fuel around the air filter and spark plug hole. Does this mean the carb is dirty and the float isn't working properly? If so and I'm able to clean it out, what should I do to keep it clean in the future? This being a gas/oil mixture, are there additives you can put in there to keep things clean? Thanks

Clean, replace, or throw away the spark arrestor screen and see if that helps.

It's a diaphragm carburetor; there is no float.

Forget the additives. Gas, preferably non-ethanol and good two-cycle oil is all you need.

Thanks! I wonder if it's the "spark arrestor screen" as I did clean out the carbureter well and yes it's a diaphram. Intricate little thing. Lucky I was able to put it back together. Okay, I'll look into that screen thing

Thanks. Silly me. It was the idle adjusting screw the whole time. Just needed to screw it in. It was bent somehow and stuck too fast out.
