DYS 4500 stuck in free wheel

Hi all,
First time startup of my lawn tractor this year and found that the free wheel is stuck on (or some other issue). Wheels turn freely. Will not drive forwards/reverse (but will roll freely). I believe that at the end of last year I set the free wheel to move the tractor around the garage, I must have disengaged it then, since it wasn’t engaged when I returned to it now. I took the rear wheel off to inspect the free wheel lever. It turns pretty freely but has a bit of spring to it.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

Model number is 944.606042 (Canadian)

Well, that was it! I’m certainly not at a mechanic level, but it do a lot of my own repairs, so should have thought through that. I was too focused on my thoughts of putting it in free wheel last year.
