Draining the oil on a Timecutter SS4235 with Kohler 22hp

When I removed the drain plug on the end of the remote hose, the oil literally drips out in a thin stream. I blew air back through to clear any clogs (scary thought), but it still drained much more slowly than any other machine I've owned. Any suggestions or experiences to share?

On the engine is a valve you turn counterclockwise and pull out about half a inch.

I had a similar valve on other riders, but this drain is a threaded plug at the end of a hose. Where is the valve you describe? As previously mentioned, when blowing air through, the hose seemed clear, but still didn't drain like every other engine I've drained over the past fifty-five years.

Did you warm it up first and remove the dipstick? It will still be slow but faster if you did not do both.
