Wouldn't start. Checked spark with one of those neon bulb testers. Found that when I have the key turned to start, engine cranks, but no spark, but as soon as I let the switch spring back to run, I see a couple of sparks until the engine spins down, which is not enough to keep running, but engine seems to fire once or twice before stopping.
Machine ran fine yesterday until I stopped to gas up.
I have been looking around for docs on this engine, Kohler, but engine ID tags are weathered beyond readability. :confused2:
It sounds like a key switch issue. In the crank position the key switch is grounding the coils but in the run position it is not. I would look at replacing the key switch and/or taking the machine to your local Dixie Chopper dealer. thanks
