I have a Super Bronco with a 46 inch deck. After some messing around with the drive belts, a thought occurred to me. Is it better to adjust the riding speed with the drive peddle or with throttle lever? Previously, I would just stick the throttle lever to Fast Rabbit and then adjust my travel speed with the drive peddle. Wouldn't adjusting the speed with the peddle put more wear on the main drive belt? At the same time, adjusting the speed with the lever would slow down the transmission and the spinning blades, giving a not-as-good cut.
It is a governed engine.
You always run the engine wide flat out.
Belts are easy & cheap to replace, engines are not.
The faster a shaft spins the less load it has on it
