DEK valve lash? No specs available.

Hi everyone,

I don't have and can't find a manual or info on a DEK 15 HP motor. It's in a DEK/Brushmaster/Stanley/GXI chipper shredder.

I'm not a small engine mechanic. What should the valve lash be on these? Even an experienced guess would be good. The motors are Honda clones if that helps. Thanks!

Probably the GX390, Honda's largest single cylinder utility. .004-.006" on both valves should put you in the ball park.

Thank you! The link above lists the GX390 as 0.006" intake and 0.008" exhaust. I would guess we are talking about amounts that the factory never even considers . . .

Good to know that the GX390 might be a good place to look for parts. Thanks.
