My GT275 battery light was intermittent but now it stays on steadily. Does this thing have a alternator or generator. Where do I find it and a replacement for it?

Most likely you have a stator under the flywheel that connects to a regulator/rectifier, or something similar

The engine is a Kawasaki 17hp made in 01/97. I will attach a picture of it.

so is "Most likely you have a stator under the flywheel that connects to a regulator/rectifier" difficult to replace or is putting the battery on the battery charger after every use in my future?

On my 325 when the batt. light stayed lit I put in a new regulator and now is fine.

What is the battery voltage before you start it and after you start it?
