How does one measure the correct belt tension for the deck belt on a Husqvarna YTH18542. I suspect the process is the same for most riding mowers but I cannot find a number. I imagine its all about belt deflection when pressed - such as the belt deflects an inch or so. Anyone have any idea?

Export threadFor most of the low end lawn tractors there is no measurement for belt deflection. The manufactureres figure that if you used the right belt routed properly, tensioner arm and pulley are in good condition and all springs are in place, you are good to good.
