This is all I can find on the engine valve cover. It is on an 2001 Exmark; 3 cylinder gas & I need the s/n, etc. I am trying to find a carb for it. The Carb has this number on it: 878169J12. It is a manual choke & from what I can find it could be an Aisan Carb cause every Nikki carb that I have found is an auto choke. My search found nothing on how to find the engine s/n. Any ideas? I have sent a request to B&S service; but it may be days before I get an answer.

Check Partstree for Cub Cadet utility tractors, model 5254. I know Cub Cadet used Daihatsu diesel engines and they may have used a Daihatsu gas engine.5254 L (54AL542-710) - Cub Cadet Compact Tractor

I saw a carb on one model that was a two barrel design.

Thanks; this is a 1 barrel; but has NO name on carb; most carbs I have seen have a name like Nikki, etc

Check with Briggs and Stratton, they brought those engines into North America for a number of years.
