Cutting Deck cable forever breaking

Hello,

I have a one year old mower tractor, M125-97TC which worked OK for last year, except for needing one new mower deck cable, but this year I have got through four cables. Within ten minutes of mowing, the cable breaks in the same place (at the end). I have had it repaired by the "specialists" under warranty twice and did it myself with an official cable twice. Has anybody any idea why these might be breaking, is it a common problem, what could be causing it?

Yes.
It is a cheap cable
Go to a cable maker and get them to make you a better one.
That is what I do with those McCulloch cables and not only are the ones I get made better, they are also cheaper than a factory replacement.

Most times they break at the plastic anchour point near the lever

Thank you for the reply, they are actually breaking at the other end, I am not technically minded, but there is what looks like a piece of solder at the end of the metal cable, which fits into a spring. It is this piece that breaks off and the service center is blaming the way I use the machine, refusing to do any more repairs under warranty. I am not sure that Spain has any cable makers?

look for "control cables" in the business phone book.
Spain will have cable makers as does France, Holland, Germany, and just about every country in the EU.
If the short length of cable on the deck side of the cable is breaking, that can be replaced, I do & get it done it regularly.
However there is something wrong if they continually break there.
Some photos of the deck with the cable attached & the blades both on & off would be helpful.
Undo the deck & slide it out sideways far enough to get a good photo.

20180413_142746.jpg This is the part that breaks. The silver bit comes inside the spring with the cable attached to it, but this is where the cable breaks every time. I shall try to dismantle the mower deck later if you think that might help?

Go on Ebay look for SS aircraft cable, the change the control surface cables a routine maintenance. That will take care of that nicely. it's very reasonably priced. Purchase 3/16 100 ft about 20 beans. HD cannot come close cost or quality.

I play with motorcycles and cable breaking is a problem.
It took a very long time to convince some of my circle that is is impossible for a human to stretch & break a clutch cable with nothing more than hand strength on the clutch lever.
You can not stretch one strand past it breaking tension let alone multistrands..

Some thing is wrong with your set up.
When you swing the PTO lever the cable goes tight and when the cable goes tight it has to turn, otherwise the wire itself twists and this twisting motion is what breaks cables.
Other than that a funny angle bend will cause the cable to fail prematurely.
